A few things I have learned since being diagnosed with Bipolar - TopicsExpress

A few things I have learned since being diagnosed with Bipolar disorder in 2000: Medications are crucial. It’s okay to have limitations. Rest is essential to my well being. Bipolar disorder is not my identity. Mental illness is not a weakness. Be strong when I can; be forgiving when I can’t. It’s important to be validated. At times, it’s okay to need that validation. Having a strong support system is critical. It is not selfish to put my health and well being first. It’s almost impossible to understand mental illness unless you have lived it yourself. Forgive myself. Forgive others. My motto: Pass on the Compassion.
