A few thoughts about `The Referendum’ This looks like it is - TopicsExpress

A few thoughts about `The Referendum’ This looks like it is turning into one of the most interesting political events since the Atlee post-war government. I have no views on how the Scots should vote, but one of the most exciting things is that they ARE actually voting. Ignoring that blatantly biased bulk of the media, there are a few objective Fact-Check type pieces which look at the pros and cons of a vote for independence blogs.channel4/factcheck/factcheck-scotland-10-facts-vote/18855 is a good example of this, and Channel 4 News has largely had a good referendum. Despite the yawns from a few, I do genuinely feel excited about what is happening. I have to say that one of the most enjoyable aspects of this is seeing the look of sheer terror on the face of `Middle England’. One of the most interesting things to watch will be whether the Westminster establishment actually carries forward with any further promised devolution in the event of a NO vote. The history isn’t good, broken promises in 1979…. The Lib Dems and tuition fees, Labour and the Publicly owned Publicly Accountable railway (T Blair - other falsehhoods are available … WMD anybody?) and the Conservatives….Greenest Government Ever. Thursday night will be interesting
