A few years ago, a friend and I got All Access passes to see Don - TopicsExpress

A few years ago, a friend and I got All Access passes to see Don in concert at the Brady Theater in Tulsa, OK. We were guaranteed seats in the first three rows and a meet and greet before the show. Turns out that the night of the performance, Don was very ill. He didnt cancel the show but he did postpone the M&G until AFTER the concert. Our seats were on the FRONT row and we were dancing directly in front of the stage. Close enough to read (upside down, of course) the set list that was laying on the floor. After the concert, we were taken to the M&G where, along with about 40 other people, we waited patiently to meet Don. He had taken a shower and arrived after a short time at the M&G. He graciously shook hands, took photos, signed autographs, and made small talk with every single person who was waiting for him...all this while suffering from an illness and very hoarse throat. He was so ill that he had to cancel his next concert date in Oklahoma City. But what a guy to stay there and put up with meeting all those people. Made me appreciate the man even more. Oh...and even when he was ill...he could still hit those high notes! Ive seen the Eagles in concert three times and Don in concert twice. I have great admiration for the talent, for the volume of material he has produced, for his perfectionism, and for his appreciation of the people who go to see him perform.
