A friend had shared a video of MNS addressing a group of Indians wherein our PM was saying that we on both sides of the border are one people and there is mere line on the ground between us. I am a secular liberal humanist. I dont connect my lineage to some Arab or Central Asian fortune hunter charging on his white stead and converting infidels to the true faith. I am from the sub continent, a son of the soil and, I am certain, I have more in common with Porus and Pirthvi Raj rather than the marauding looters Ghaznavi, Ghauri, Taimur, Nadir Shah or Abdali. My heroes are sons of my soil and not from across the western frontiers. However, I also wish to remind our PM, that this border between Pakistan and India is not a mere ordinary line. It is a line drawn in blood. It is alone drawn in fire. It is line drawn on the mutilated bodies of my ancestors. It is line drawn through the violated bodies of our women. It is a line drawn by the fallen infants. It is line drawn in tears, pain and anguish. If you diminish the significance of this line, we will tear your tongue out, dismember you limb by limb and scatter your rotten parts across this line. You can promote trade, build cultural relations, improve diplomatic ties. But do not ever talk of this line as a mere line. Our heroes have sacrificed their lives to preserve it. It is line drawn in history and we will give our lives to retain it.
