A funny, sweet memory from 1960. (Margaret and I were remembering today and laughing about it.) Sunday night between church training and evening worship. West End Baptist Church, Birmingham. A bunch of us college/high school age had sat for an hour listening to a presentation on--get ready for this!--whether to kiss or pray at the end of a date. Really! So, we were in the drug store next door, and I was sitting at the soda counter. (remember those?) Margaret, age 18, was flirty and we were all laughing. And suddenly--Ive forgotten the exact impetus-- I came off the stool and grabbed her and flat planted one on her, even bending her over backward the way it might be done in a comic strip. She was stunned....(and loved it!). No, we did not start dating then, but maybe 6 or 8 months later. Working on anniversary number 53 now. -- Im thinking of giving kissing lessons, if anyone is interested in signing up. (Thats a joke, Ginger.)
