A good friend of mine Karl Hebenstreit is starting a new meet-up group in Washington DC and its called MATH, Making Awesome Things Happen. This is the invitation we are proposing: Anyone interested? MATH-MAKING AWESOME THINGS HAPPEN Its a miracle! our world unfolding as a series of day to day moment to moment ...................................miracles. the sun rises the moon shines babies are born people fall in love the rose bush blooms sleep renews. These are miracles we mostly take for granted especially the miracles that you and I help create. Who wants to put Miracle Worker on their resume? That surely is a tough role in todays cynical world. But its one that we at MATH believe needs to emerge more and more if people are to more fully claim their gifts and live out of human fullness appreciating the wonder and mystery that life offers to all of us. Life if awesome-but it has become too boring, too stressful, too fast, too cynical, in a word- .......................too awful. What if we gathered a group of people who signed up to witness to the awesome dimensions of life? Each month? and helped each other make awesome things happen? What if making awesome things happen was what the work place was meant to be about? and making awesome things happen was our job as families? What if Congress passed a law binding them to only make awesome things happen? and the Media was showing us only awesome, not awful things? What if churches and synogogues rejoined the awesome business? and dared to promise us miracles again? Blessings of Bliss. What if the UN Charter said two words, Be Awesome? Imagine if you could send your 5 year old to school and she would come home and say without being asked: Mom- School was awesome today! Or your bored teenage son came home from summer camp to say it was out of this world? What would we have to do if education was to become awesome again? and public service was the most awesome thing to do? Life is given to us without our request, No one placed an order I want to be born please. We just show up here As kids, we know that bliss of our first butterfly and our first kiss but then we make a sorry mess and declare life is one awful business. Time to Make Awesome Things Happen- do the MATH and hope you hear our awesome invitation.
