A great hospital with fantastic medical staff. You just cant continue to serve a declining population base. Cities and towns are already feeling strapped themselves. Just look around, very limited new businesses coming in, very little if any commercial or residential construction. Perhaps more homes are being condemned than being built. Pouring more and more money into our school systems for children who will eventually leave the area, sharing their skills with other communities. We cannot depend solely on colleges, retail, and the arts. We need manufacturing! I know some will disagree, but our communities should encourage manufacturing to locate here and give them as much of a tax break as needed so that people will move to the northern Berkshires; people who will ultimately support a thriving medical complex.
