A guy on an old motivational tape once said, “When I go on a safari, I can make a wild boar incredibly angry at me. The most dangerous wild animal can carry a grudge against me for the rest of my life, but I just get on a plane and go home and it’s all fine. “But if you hack off a MAN??? If you screw a HUMAN over, that man will travel ‘round the globe to HUNT you down.” “Friends come and go, but enemies accumulate.” Amen brother. The hack is: Keep your mortal enemy list as close to zero as humanly possible. So far as it depends on you, be at peace with everyone. As St. Paul so eloquently said. This one didn’t make the cut for my 80/20 Life Hacks course, because it’s so simple. There you go, a few paragraphs and you’ve got it. But it is most definitely a system and it most definitely alters your success atmosphere. And it will make every day of your life better if you make peacemaking a practice. OK, so what if you’ve already made an enemy? And... what if they’re 96% at fault and you KNOW you’re only 4% at fault, and you know you should never have to apologize before they do? Apologize for your 4% like it’s 40% anyway. And don’t mention their 60%, let alone their 96%. And do it today not tomorrow. Just tell em youre sorry. Own YOUR piece. Dont sweat theirs. This hack is not a piece of software that runs on autopilot, but it will fix a lot of things in your life that no software could ever fix.
