A hero was born on September 29th and I am lucky enough to be able to call him my dad. Today we celebrate a man filled with strength, integrity, compassion and most of all love. From being the best dad and poppy to his family to being the best coach and friend to so many others throughout the years. When 9/11 happened he was a retired FDNY Lieutenant and he gathered up his helmet and whatever equipment he had and made his way to Manhattan to help out. By the grace of God he made it back home. It did not go unnoticed that for years he would visit his old coaches and their wives and still today he drives neighbors to doctor’s appointments etc. A flag flies in our hometown and on a monthly basis my dad updates the plaque so that it flies in honor of a special veteran that we have lost. My dad is a very special and honorable man and he deserves nothing but the best in this upcoming year!!! Happy Birthday Father!!! Love you!!!
