A hiker who was mauled to death by a black bear in September took five photos of the bear before the fatal attack, West Milford police said. The police department released photos found on the victims phone A report says that the hikers first sighted the bear about 100 feet away. “They stopped and took photographs of the bear with their cell phones and the bear began walking towards them,” the report says. The bear continued to follow as they walked away and they split up as they ran, the report continues.
