A husbands effort for his wife. If you saw the previous post - TopicsExpress

A husbands effort for his wife. If you saw the previous post about the shopping trip - we have been taking day guests here at St Cuthberts Hospice to get their Christmas shopping done - you may have seen there were a couple of men involved in, too. Paul Purdom, 62, has been a day guest here for 14 months. He was accompanied about the MetroCentre by our new volunteer pastor, Steve Brown. Paul said Steve must have had infinite patience. Pauls quest was to get presents for his wife of 36 years, Vivienne, whose birthday is also next month. He said: I desperately want to go out and get my wife a birthday present and a Christmas present. It went like a dream - I went up and down the length of the MetroCentre with Steven about three or four times – it killed my foot. I didn’t use the wheelchair at all. I thought it was fantastic. It was far more than I expected. Vivienne would appreciate the effort as well. There is a pride in going out shopping for my wife, having chosen it myself and just putting the thought in for my wife. Getting something for your wife is something special. Pictured, Paul at the hospice and on his trip. And Steve Brown.
