A lesson in true servanthood from my 3-year old princess: for the - TopicsExpress

A lesson in true servanthood from my 3-year old princess: for the first time I asked my daughter to buy something from our next door neighborhood store. I carefully gave her instructions to tell the person at the store to give her laurel (bayleaf) and gave her the money. With happiness in her face and an eagerness in her heart to follow her fathers instructions she grabbed her little umbrella and skipped her way to the store. As I looked at her from a distance I could not help but feel proud of my little girl who confidently told the store owner pabili po ng laurel and gave him the money. And after doing the deed she thanked the store owner and skipped her way back home with a proud smile on her face. And after finishing the task, her only reward is a smile on my face, a loving hug from me, a pat on her head, and the words, great job, anak! As servants of God we should have a heart to follow the Lords instructions for whatever task that He has in store for us. No matter how menial or how daunting the task is our attitude should be to look forward to pleasing our Father in doing that task for we are privileged to do it for Him. And regardless of any reward our attitude should be to look forward to the time that our Father in Heaven would say to us, Well done, good and faithful servant! Thank you Lord for my daughter Akie, thank you for making her an instrument of instruction. P.S. And yes, we are having adobo for lunch... ;-)
