A like is about more than what you actually like; its about what gets your support and promotion, whether thats your intention or not. It is Facebooks intention, and thats all that matters. A friend isnt necessarily a friend, and a like isnt just a like. Social media responses to calls for action make you hosts and social sponsors of someone elses brand or message, even if you disagree and comment on it, or share something out of your disdain for it. We say things like can you believe somebody would post something like THIS? Why not? You just re-posted it for them. We are ALL promoters. I will be writing about this soon. Hopefully the result will be empowerment, enlightenment, and greater support of local artists, businesses, ministries and other things that matter and would flourish as they should with our collective social promotion. Meanwhile, take my word for it and stop inadvertently promoting some of the junk you probably dont really want everyone and their friends to know you like anyway - and definitely stop commenting on the stuff you hate - and go LIKE your own sisters, nephews, cousins or friends fan page.
