A little from the newest member of the Woodford team! Hi, my name is Maggie and I am a nutritionist who is interested in educating athletes in the importance of nutrition while undertaking strength and conditioning training. I am very excited to be joining the dedicated team at Woodford Sport Science Consulting and look forward to working with you and assisting in training programs by providing individual dietary guides. Nutrition is fundamental to enhancing physical performance and progression in athletes, my aim is to assist you meet the energy demands of your training sessions, to optimise performance and assist in recovery. I believe each individual has unique goals; ideals and training programs therefore nutritional requirements for each client will differ. My goal is to empower clients with nutritional knowledge, in conjunction with training regimes and lifestyle practices will enhance overall physical performance and nutritional status. My interest in nutrition and exercise began in high school, which has driven me to undertake a Bachelor of Health Science majoring in Nutrition and Exercise Science at Deakin University. I have a particular interest in the way food and nutrition impacts the performance of the body during exercise and training. This was particularly relevant when I assisted Draft Star with fitness assessment by conducting agility, sprints and beep tests of young footballers. Amongst my professional endeavours and personal interests I volunteer with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden in a number of primary schools. I help conduct cooking classes incorporating vegetables picked from the vegetable garden within the school and produce healthy and nutritious meals. In addition to this I also help educate children about nutrition and the benefits of consuming fruit and vegetables as part of a balanced healthy diet. If you are keen on getting a nutritional plan from Maggie please email info@woodfordssc or pm the page!
