A little late, but I wanted to share some of me story. My Momma - TopicsExpress

A little late, but I wanted to share some of me story. My Momma rescued me from what I assume to be a backyard breeder. She didnt know any better, but does now! I had allergies, food and environmental, at a young age. On March 3, 2011 I had a lump removed from my chest and thankfully it was just a fatty tumor. Here is a picture of that. I had staples inside and outside from that surgery. I had to go back to the doctor to get the staples checked because they popped open once. But I was a strong brave girl and acted like they didnt bother me. I never cried once! In the spring of 2012 I had been on prednisone for a long time for my allergies and on my second veterinarian. My first one passed away and the one that took over wanted to cut a sore out of my face that wouldnt heal. Momma said no way and we went to vet #2. They said no, it was a sore from allergies. They cleared it up with steroids. Then keep me on steroids and I got fat because they make you hungry. They also lower your immune system and do other bad things to your system. I had other health issues too. When vet #2 said I dont know what to do we moved to our current vet which we LOVE and dont ever want to have to leave! They take good care of me there! Something happen inside my system and my whole head went numb. I couldnt blink, couldnt move my nose, couldnt move my ears, my lips, I was drooling.. it was SCARY!! Momma took me to the vet and she said I had bilateral facial paralysis!! We had to go see a doggie neurologist. He took good care of me and told me not to be scared. I did not have brain tumor! He told us what to do and took me off steroid the correct way and guess what.... I am fine!! I had to wear me sunglasses outside cause I couldnt blink and I had to put special eye drops in me eyes. I had to have soft food cause I couldnt chew well!! Heres pictures of me when I was paralyzed. In 2013 my poppa had a heart attack and I was depressed and missed him so much while he was away. I didnt understand where he was and why him was not home. I slept in his chair all the time and looked for him while he was not home. I didnt want to do nothing while he was gone. During this time is when I started my flare up with my first case of pancreatitis. It was a small flare, but it was the start. I didnt have to have any IV fluids that time or have to stay at the vets office. I threw up a few times and had some messy potties. I lay around and just didnt feel well. I had to eat boiled rice and boiled hamburger for a few days and then was ok. That time it didnt last long. Then comes 2014. I had so many days in 2014 when I did not feel well. I had many nights where I had barf-a-ramas in my crate, projectile vomit all over my Mommas bed, throw up all around the dinning room table, all through the house. Then I had a cyst rupture and ooze that had to be treated by my dr and had antibiotics. I had to go to the vet for my pancreatitis and get IV fluids, antibiotics, blood work. They took so much blood work they took it out of my neck!! This time I was sick for a long time. I also had a uti and was on antibiotics for 3 weeks. Id try an antibiotic and it would make me sick, so Id have to try another one. Then I would get better and then bam all of a sudden Id be sick again. It would start suddenly. Id wake up and start shaking, trembling, panting, throwing up and be in pain. More than one time my Momma thought she was going to lose me during the night. One night she slept on the living room floor with me because I was more comfortable in my bed out there. And my Momma has fibromyalgia, so it was not the best thing for her to do, to sleep on the hard floor all night! Trying to find a food to feed me has been a challenge with all my allergies. But we finally found one and it is costly. I was on a raw diet, but after conversing with Dr Littman in Pa and my vet, we decided to put me on a special dry food. We feel it will be better for my pancreas. Theres a lot more to my story of course, this is the tiny version. Ill be sharing more, and more often.
