A little something extra this week. Made them up awhile ago, just now putting them down in writing; All void born are sentient nebulous gasses out in the depths of spell jammer space. In most cases, these gases hitch rides on spell jammer ships passing through their ‘civilization’ to planetary bodies. However, in order to affect the normal world, they must be encased in “soul cloth”. This cloth allows the gasses that make up their bodies, to fill this cloth, and interact with the physical world. Hit points are a measure of how much damage the cloth can take before it shreds and the void born is released. In such a state, any strong winds can disintegrate the void born. Any material can be made into “soul cloth” it just takes (1 day/con) to weave their being through the material so it can hold them. Although a Void Born does not breathe per se like a normal being, instead, they must have energy. In space, the radiant energy from dozens of celestial bodies provides all that they need. On planetary bodies, only the single sun or whatever provides light for the planet gives them that. Going underground for a Void Born, would be like a normal being going underwater. They can sustain themselves through torchlight, but they will progressively grow weaker (-1 Con AND Int per hour without suitable energy source). Void born do not have the normal senses that normal beings possess. Void Born see through energy patterns, giving them infravision, “aural” (ability to see changes in a person’s bioelectrical field- aka emotions), and can even see magical emanations on items or areas. Once they get adept enough at reading emotions, Void Born can learn to “detect lie”. Void Born can shed their “soul cloth” at any time to fly through the air (they are not strong enough to lift physical objects by themselves, even soul cloth), but this also leaves them vulnerable to any strong winds (magically generated usually), but strong storms can also tear them apart. They can also fit into any container or past any barrier that is not hermetically sealed.
