A log from an old log cabin is being recycled here on Burnaby - TopicsExpress

A log from an old log cabin is being recycled here on Burnaby Mountain, by the Sacred Fire, while the blockade is going on. This cedar log will be carved by Mike Antone - a Squamish land protector and carver - into a totem pole. Mike told us the totem pole will represent a land protector wrapped in a blanket (a symbol for protection), with a raven standing on his head. The raven is a trickster, that could be either good, or bad. This is symbolic for the bad intentions of the fossil fuels and mining corporations that have been pillaging and raping the land, poisoning the soil, the waters and the air. We are now at a turning point though, and from all these bad things that have been done to Mother Earth, something good is arising: our unity, our solidarity that will help us defeat these ecocidal criminals and all their accomplices. This totem pole will stand here on Burnaby Mountain and watch over these lands long time after we will be all gone, standing witness to our fight. Our great grandchildren will know that we stood up here to say NO means NO, in solidarity with the Unistoten, with the Klabona Keepers, with the Secwepemc, with the Mikmaq Elsipogtog, and with all the other land protectors, to defend the environment for all generations to come. - Arthur Brociner Thank you Arthur Brociner for all the work and effort you are making to help with this pole carving! Great! Look forward to seeing the shapes take form and to see the final result, it will be wonderful to see it installed on Burnaby Mountain to remind us of the fight we have undertaken to protect our beautiful Mother Earth. All of us must stand up now wherever are to keep her safe for all future generations!
