A long post, but a strong post: It has been a year since I started dropping #poundsdowntheroad toward meeting the healthy man under the unheathy fat. This is day 365. When I started, I was absolutly certain I would have never made it this far. How happy I am that i stuck with it! I guess it is time for some stats. I have told a select few already who have been unwaveringly supportive. So this may be old news to just a few of you. I made a goal of losing 80 pounds in a year. If you look at just the scale and nothing else, I have lost forty eight pounds. However, of you remove the educated estimate of how much muscle mass I have gained, and you only look at fat pounds lost, then I have lost one hundred and eight pounds. This smashes my goal and even smashes my doctors goal. She wanted me to lose a hundred. I feel so much better than I did a year ago. I can see myself gaining confidence, flexibility, strength, and tools to assist in positive choices. When we graduated High School, our class quote was WHAT WOULD YOU ATTEMPT TO DO IF YOU KNEW YOU COULD NOT FAIL? In the beginning I wasnt sure so relied on others to tell me that I wouldnt fail. Then I engaged a personal trainer who taught me how not to fail. Slowly but surely I learned I would not fail and now here I am. This is my Mt. Everest. Though there are plenty more climbs to make and obstacles to traverse, this one was the hardest one. It only gets easier from here. Bless you all for your support, ice packs for being amazing, and my father whose memory has been pushing me through all the crap to get to this point. Thank you all again for the suppor, tips, encouragement, and love you have shone me this year. Now I just have to figure out the goal for next year...
