A lot of patriotic Indians are wishing for the people of Scotland to Vote YES for an Independent Scotland in the Referendum today. But for those desi patriots, its not their love for the Scots or their disdain for hegemonic imperial occupation thats making them want an Independent Scotland. Instead, its for the chance to see our former imperial power The United Kingdom (UK) get dismembered and feel embarrassed. (Anyone comparing it to the Indo-Pak partition is an irredeemable moron) And anyway, even if there are Indians who really are against hegemonic occupation and imperialism and believe that holding Referendums is a fair & democratic process, I want to ask them as to whats their stand on the army occupied state of Jammu & Kashmir which they feel is an INTEGRAL PART OF INDIA? No, I didnt say Im calling for Azad Kashmir. And I (and an overwhelming majority of Kashmiris) certainly dont want it to be taken over by Pakistan. However, like the people of Scotland, Tibet, Palestine, Crimea and all other occupied regions of the world, the people of Jammu & Kashmir also deserve their referendum or a plebiscite which was promised to them in 1948 by Independent India but was never granted unlike the referendums Independent India held in the former French colony of Pondicherry, former Portuguese colony of Goa and the kingdom of Junagarh. But then, those referendums had to be held as majority of the people of Pondicherry, Goa & Junagadh agreed to accede to India. In all fairness, what the people of Jammu & Kashmir certainly deserve is to get a referendum. And also for the AFSPA law to be scrapped. Well see what the result will be. Youre a depraved hypocrite (and not an anti-imperialist) if you support referendums in Scotland, Pondicherry, Goa & Junagadh but dont want the same to happen in Jammu & Kashmir. And then you have the audacity to complain about the rising anti-India sentiment among Kashmiris.
