A lot of people are upset about the #OscarNods this year. Ive said I found it a little boring. To add some context to the growing debate (#oscarssowhite), its wrong from all sides. Things happen, the world is not perfect and not right all the time. Its contradictory. There shouldnt be a quota for the number of slots for minorities, the academy should select nominations and winners from what is the best , but this is an ideal and hardly ever the truth (Meryl nominated 19 times now, would have more wins and not for the Iron Lady, Leo DiCaprio that is all). Best is an opinion and performances vary from person to person. The Oscars is how many people can I get to believe I did a good job. You cant please everyone, some years are better for the films you like and some are not. I think #interstellar was jobbed and #gonegirl. Hard work pays off when one pays attention but getting someone to acknowledge you can be half the battle. We watch films based on our individual tastes and therefore like them more because of that. The solution should be to change ourselves, as liking the same things year after year will not change the course of history or acceptance. Open up.
