A lot of people at SOAS, including academics, claim to see everyone as equals and want to discuss things regarding certain topics in a balanced way, but that is slowly but evidently looking like more of a lie to me as time goes on... Arabs being seen as backwards and below the Western human species, religion or religiousness being equated with stupidity, being categorised as moderate and extremist (good and bad)... Nothing is ever as simple as good and bad ffs. Thats just really stupid. certain things being said I cant even write here as id bate out when it was said which would make things really awkward for me, is actually astounding. where o where have I heard all these things being repeated again and again I wonder? Mainstream media :P education, PHDs/MAs/wwhatever degree you have and an intelect is supposed to open the mind is it?
