A man has been charged after being arrested at a hotel in Ballina this morning. Police were conducting a routine business inspection of the hotel on Moon Street about 1am today (Saturday 14 June 2014), when a patron allegedly became abusive. Police will allege the 33-year-old man was Tasered after he became more aggressive and threatened officers. He was arrested at the scene and taken to Ballina Police Station. The man, who police allege is president of the local Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG), has now been charged with intimidate police, and fail to quit premises. The Ballina man was granted strict conditional bail to appear in Ballina Local Court on Thursday 17 July 2014.
