A new low: Only 27% of Catholics nationwide consider themselves "strong Catholics," and of those, only HALF attend Mass regularly. Meanwhile, the USCCB busies itself with immigration reform, a topic on which good Catholics can differ: Sept. 8 (the Nativity of Mary) has been set as a day of "action" & prayer for immigration reform; dioceses will "organize pilgrimages, devote Masses, and deliver sermons" promoting relaxation of immigration restrictions. All around, the Church is crumbling in the West, people are leaving in droves, and the Latino immigrants the bishops are hoping will fill up the vacuum eventually and overwhelmingly leave to join protestantism--and what is being done about this mess?
