A nice demo video of the Japanese Type 10 tank. The Type 10 is a 4th-generation main battle tank that the Japan Ground Self Defense Force has been equipped with. It weights 43 tonnes, has a crew compliment of 3, and is protected by Nano-crystal steel (nor Triple Hardness Steel), Modular ceramic composite armour. Main armament is a 120 mm L44 smoothbore cannon, built by Japan. Engine is a 4-stroke cycle V8 Diesel engine with 1200 hp. Tank has a good power/weight ratio of 27 hp/tonne. Top speed is 70 kmh, and apparently the same in reverse - result of Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The most remarkable characteristic of the Type 10 tank lies in its C4I function (command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence). This can be incorporated into the JGSDF network to enable sharing of information among tanks, as well as connected to the infantry’s outdoor computer network to facilitate integrated military operations with the infantry troops.
