A night all about great music, killer dancing and a friendly, inclusive and creative vibe. This is it TO dancers - come and be part of the TO Fusion Dance Experiment/Experience!! Not sure what fusion dancing is? It’s simple, really. Partner dancing! -- Connect with your partner. Improvise. Inspire each other. Draw from your knowledge of other dances or play with your own creative body movement. Leading and following free of the ‘traditional’ partner dancing binary, if you choose. No matter your dance background (be it blues, tango, swing, zouk, kizomba, hip hop, contact improv, etc.), come and co-create an amazing dance experience. Come join the un-lesson to kick of the night and get your brain and body into fuse-land-i-a. This will be a fun and collaborative dance-mash with experts from different genres. Tid-bits of inspiration to get you exploring your own dance boundaries and a to establish some common dance etiquette that will help make the night awesome for everyone. 10:00 - Late O’clock - Mind-blowing dancing. With 4 brilliant DJs delivering their own flavour and favourite dance jamz - from howling blues to worldly beats to gut-wrenching electronica - the night is guaranteed to be a diverse musical adventure that will keep your feet inspired. Your DJ lineup for the evening: ~ Heriberto Perez: Cleveland’s Tango/Blues Fusion Guru! He’ll be taking us somewhere along the lines of nuevo-tango alt-blues fusión. What? Oh yeah!! ~ Erin June: A Toronto person ;) Obsessed with electronica! Bringing you some serious electro vibes - from dreamy and lyrical to dramatic drops. Sprinkle some RnB flavour throughout and the occasional kiz/zouk rhythm - Fuuuuusion baby. ~ Brooke Filsinger: Toronto’s Blues Mama! Brooke strives to remain true to the roots of her sordid past - late night house parties! Blues, Swing, Soul and Funk! ~ Jason Rosenberg: London (Onterrible) Fusion junkie! Jason will take us on a journey into the world of dubstep and electronica with occasional infusions of world rhythms. Guaranteed good tunes until at least 2 am, can’t wait to see you all there!
