A person called the newsroom early this morning from their cell - TopicsExpress

A person called the newsroom early this morning from their cell phone in the midst of the traffic backed up on I-65 in Hart County. They complained they hadnt moved in a couple of hours. They complained they were staring at the back of big rigs, was hungry and had to pee. They complained something should be done about this and went on to berate the construction crews, truck drivers and drivers in general. They continued ranting they would make sure their congressman, the governor and the highway department was going to hear about this. And, of course, we as a news station should get on this story post haste. The real story is someone lost their life there as a result of an accident - likely because people wouldnt slow down or pay attention to the many, many warnings along the way that it is a construction zone. We are so spoiled as a society that our lives are all about getting from point-A to point-B with little regard for anyone else. Theres always going to be road construction somewhere. Youre going to be inconvenienced at some point in life. Slow down, pay attention, plan your route ahead of time and exercise some patience. Complaining wont change a thing.
