A photoshop tattoo photo is no longer a picture of a tattoo, now - TopicsExpress

A photoshop tattoo photo is no longer a picture of a tattoo, now it is just a really cool photograph. You lose what the tattoo is and what it is about, to display the artists skill and the tattoos true color and detail. It really bothers me how much photo altering goes on in the tattoo industry. The majority of the tattoo pictures are altered beyond recognition and give people a very false sense of what can be tattooed. Healed work you see in person is the best thing to look at, not fresh tattoos on the Internet or even in person. I try to get healed tattoo pictures and post them. I also never post photoshop tattoo photographs, what you see is what you get. No false advertising here. Skin tone also plays a major role in how a tattoo looks when healed. If you have olive, dark or even yellowish skin tone, your tattoo will never have a tattoo that is going to look like one that is on a fair skin person. Some years ago I took a private seminar with a world famous tattoo artist in California and within a first few minutes, he asked if I photoshop my tattoos and my response was never, that is false advertising. He said You will never be recognized nationally or internationally if you do not photoshop your work. I said that I was good with that and I still stand by that today. I have had and still have people that fly in for my work and that makes me feel really good and I dont have to bend to the way of the industry. I am so proud of my son Zion and how he is progressing as a artist. I really hope someday Sunshine will decide to join us tattooing. Anyway thank you all who get tattooed from me, near and far. You are all very much appreciated. Without you I could not do what I do. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Sincerely, Michael J Pearson
