A pleasant feature of pastoring in a relatively small town (55K people): As I returned from a Bible study I waved at one of my parishioners that drove by; then, proceeded to call my wife and discovered that she happened to be driving in the same general area--we spot each other (children and wife wave and I wave back), and then I stopped to pump gas and met another parishioner refueling. All in 10 minutes. This is not the famous Dutch Reformed community my Dutch friends boasted of in seminary where everyone lived in the same neighborhood and walked to church together on Sunday morning, but its a good start...a good start indeed. #lifeinthecovenant
