A poem about sculpture, TOUCH, written for me by my professor of English Literature at Ohio University in 1976, inspired by my undergrad thesis of 9 bronze sculptures and drawings from Dantes Inferno. TOUCH to grasp at space and hold it. to twist mind into matter and mold it this is alchemy more precious than Merlins dreams to take the vision distill it through arteries to hands to fingers to form shaped from nothing fact from fantasy to make space stand back and surround what was not there this is as close as any of us can ever come.
