A political party has to be democratic if they allow one of their spokesman to openly criticize their party to the media, especially a media that is already unforgiving and biased. Shazia Ilmis frank and open media statement citing her reasons to quit AAP raised some valid points that : 1. the party needs to get constructive and move away from demonstration politics in order to continue to be relevant and focus on the development of Swaraj. 2. that Arvind Kejriwal needs new advisers to help him to continue being constructive as the current group of advisers are too close minded and undemocratic. 3. that she greatly respects Arvind Kejriwal even if she does not support jail politics, and will continue to support all that he stands for, from outside the party, and would not hesitate to go back to the party when they regain their focus and aim. While I support all the points she highlighted, I still question her authenticity and do not support the timing of her disclosure. On one hand, this may just be the kick that AAP needs in the right direction. On the other, she might just have catapulted the party and their extremely worthwhile cause towards oblivion. I am keeping my fingers, toes and hopes crossed that the former rather than the latter pans out. I hope #AAP is listening as I am convinced that this is the only Party with a progressive and intelligently thought out ideology that can carry every single Indian citizen into the next century, no matter of caste, creed or religion. FYI - I cannot imagine anyone in Congress or BJP talk so openly about their collective mistakes! But the sad fallout is that now the pro Modi batters will go crazy on social media and lose no opportunity to pulverize and maliciously gloat over AAPs failures over and over and over again!! :/ #IsupportAAP
