A pretty amazing time was had at the Sarasota Folk Festival. The weather was perfect. The music, incredible. And the fellowship, love and atmosphere, wonderful. These exhausted ideas will be scatter-shot, but first thank you, Jim Dunn and Carolyn Dunn for inviting me to be a part of it. Besides hanging out with great friends and making new ones, the personal highlight of the weekend was sharing the stage for the first time with one of my idols, Bob Patterson. One of the great Florida Folk gentlemen, in my book. And then, to hear him singing along to the chorus, Dont Be A Weenie, that was surreal. So many folks Id like to acknowledge, theres no way to thank everyone individually. And thanks to everyone that helped out my crutch-carrying wife, too. Also a real pleasure meeting Florida Folk legend Jim Gromko. Promenade Action rocked the Park with their sets. The Tracker/Skamper (coined Tramper, by Mike Jurgensen) made the journey unscathed and none the worse for wear. The Saturday night campfire jam was one of the greatest assortment of Florida Folk talent Ive ever been around. Peter Hennings, Peter Price, Mike Jurgenson, Michelle and Scott Dalziel, Brian Smalley, Too Many Smiths, Hank Woji, Bing Futch, Rebeccah Pulley, Lauren Heintz, Tom Ellis, Promenade Action, Carly Bak, Michael Roberts and Debbie Jamieson, Bob Patterson, Jerry Mincey, and Hiro, a Japanese folk guitar player from NYC who was astonishing. Good night, I will go to sleep thinking of all these things, oh, and the Black Cherry Ice Cream...
