A prominent legislator has suggested that the members of the United States Congress, with salaries of $178,000.00 a year plus multiple perks (including up to $1 million each per year for staff and office), are underpaid. He says they are like the Board of Directors of the most prosperous nation in the world. He has a point, there. Most CEOs in world class companies make more than the president, and there is certainly a great deal of responsibility thrust upon congress. On the other hand, most world class companies...if their company was in decline...and if their company was spending in excess of its income...and if their company was introducing new products with no possible hope of paying their own way, thus taking the company deeper in debt--those companies would probably ask for the resignation of each board member, and perhaps the CEO and the top executives of that company. Which is probably the best reason I know to initiate a progressive program called Operation Clean House to begin with the 2014 midterm elections and to be completed in November 2016. And this includes both parties! When your outgo exceeds your income, your upkeep becomes your downfall. God bless America!
