A public shooting rampage in a Cicis Pizza in Vegas a few days ago. And yet another school shooting being reported today in Oregon. And undoubtedly another day the government, media and people will refuse to open a serious, productive national discussion about mental illness. Oh sure. The events will be used to point fingers and play politics. To polarize voters and divide neighbors. To profit from headlines. To engage in the dangerous foolishness of race baiting if circumstances permit them too. But heaven forbid we speak publicly about a growing mental health epidemic that affects everyone.
