A puppy, named Nin Niu 妞妞 (1 year old, female), was luckily saved during one of the recent dog meat truck rescues, but she was in a very dire condition. The last two photos show her hanging on to life when she arrived at the sanctuary in Jinan after her rescue. Nin Niu was then sent to a pet clinic for 13 days and the vet was ready to give up on her. Ms. Kuo, who runs the sanctuary and is a member of Duo Duos China team, decided to try Chinese medicine as a last resort. After an arduous ordeal, Niu Niu is on her way to recovery.
