A question to all. Ive been detecting for 20 ish years. I recently went to a local farm and ask could I detect on the stubble field he had. He said I could so I spent a few hours on it. A couple of buttons and not much else. I have just had a lad contact me and said it is his land and I had no right to detect on it. Am I wrong to think that the land belongs to the farmer and as he gave me permission I had done nothing wrong. I did not know that someone had been detecting on it and the farmer did not mention it to me. I have been living abroad for the last 5 years so not been out much only on organized digs. My point is if the farmer gives you permission no one as the right to stop you as I would never have done that to any detectorist who got permission form the farmer/land owners. In fact if we all did that any new detectorist would not be able to start up. Any thoughts on the subject from you all old and new detectorist cheers Lee
