Today, we would like to introduce Swedish graphic novel Our Parents recently published in Korea. The elderlys independent living supported by social welfare services is perceived ideal and ordinary in the Scandinavian countries including Sweden. Such services, however, often lead to guilt, shame or frustration between the elderly and families employing home care assistants and the latter employed by the former. Our Parents (De anhöriga : åtta tecknade noveller) describes this irrationality and contradiction from the viewpoints of both the elderly and home care assistants through eight short stories on family, death, funeral, etc. Interested in the rest of the story?
