A quick `switching demo using Flaming Star - our entry level guitar for junior and intermediary guitarists. The Rebel Flaming Star is a very versatile, strat based guitar featuring switch options found in very premium instruments and demonstrates that even a junior, lower priced instrument can sound great with the right setup. There may seem like a lot of switching going on in the video, but remember that this is a demo of those options and no-one uses all options in a single song. Even here, many tones are not shown as we focus on the main ones to keep the video at around 90 seconds. In all, there are over 30 different tones. - We start in neck position with all settings normal for a fat humbucker sound typical of a Blues Les Paul. - At 0.08 we switch to middle position and flick both pickups to Single Coil - we now have a pure Stratocaster clean tone with hum cancelling. - At 0.20 we switch to Bridge position and flick to full humbucker mode, again typical of a Les Paul. - At 0.26 we switch back to the Neck position in full humbucker mode and turn on distortion for a Slash sound. - At 0.49 we switch back to middle, both pickups in full humbucker mode and we pull the push/pulls out to put the pickups in Series and Out of Phase for a typical Jimmy Page Les Paul solo. In this mode, we hear the harmonics and very sweet tones of the guitar that are not typical in a $350 instrument. The guitar is plugged into a GoldenTone practice Amp through an old BOSS distortion and is recorded on an iPhone 5S.
