A re-share from 2013: With every passing day, I find myself - TopicsExpress

A re-share from 2013: With every passing day, I find myself growing in reminiscence of days gone by and appreciation of things I once took for granted. It is truly breathtaking at how quickly time passes and how fragile and brief life can be. One blessing I am eternally grateful for, one which is often here one day and gone the next, is the gift of VOICES. Voices have soothed, consoled, instructed, entertained, reassured, guided, directed, scolded, reprimanded, enthralled, cheered, criticized, coaxed, drawn, dispelled, discouraged, taught, tempted and complimented me, just to name a few. They have spoken and sang their influences into my memory. Voices have enriched my life in indescribable and immeasurable ways. Though many of my most beloved voices have long since faded away, I remember and cherish them still. Every voice we are exposed to gives us something to learn, if we will listen. Even those whose lesson is a hard, unwelcome one. Every voice sings a melody, some musical, some not so melodic. Lord, let mine speak your word and sing your song! When your voice is silenced and is no more, will you be satisfied with that which was its declarative signature? In this moment, I am thankful for the voices which have filled my life and the world around me with goodness and made this life much more than it would have been otherwise. Yes, I recall with great fondness and I am thankful beyond words for VOICES. © Dale Golden
