A reminder of who God is....as we draw near to the weekend, and all of the problems, trials, tribulations, disappointments, struggles, heartaches, pain............... Song and Scripture for today Thursday... Song: A Mighty Fortress Is Our God Verse 1 A Mighty Fortress is our God, A bulwark never failing; Our helper He amid the flood, of mortal ills prevailing. For still our ancient foe, Doth seek to work us woe - his craft and power are great, and armed with cruel hate On earth is not his equal. Verse 2 Did we in our own strength confide, our striving would be losing; Were not the right Man on our side, The man of Gods on choosing. Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He - Lord Sabbath is His name - From age to age the same And He must win the battle. Verse 3 And though this world with devils filled, Should threaten to undo us; We will not fear, for God hath willed, His truth to triumph through us. The prince of darkness grim, We tremble not for him- his rage we can endure, For lo, his doom is sure One little Word shall fell him. Verse 4 That Word above all earthly powers, No thanks to them abideth; The Spirit and the gifts are ours, Through Him who with us sideth, Let good and kindred go, this mortal life also, The body they may kill, Gods truth abideth still, His kingdom is forever. Supported by the Scriptures: Psalms 18: 2 Psalms 46: 1-5 (2) The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower... Psalms 46: 1-5 (1) God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (2) Therefore will we not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. (3) Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah (4) There is a river, the streams thereof shall make glad the city of God, the Holy Place of the tabernacles of the Most High. (5) God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God shall help her, and that right early. Now shout GLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORY FOR THE STRENGTH OF GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
