A short while ago, a drabble opening was posted and drabblers were invited to finish the drabble. The resulting drabbles are shown below. As this is a contest, you are all invited to vote for your favourite drabble. Just pop your choice in the comments box. Cave Joe and Alec were barely able to hold on to the crag because of the force of the wind as they approached the cave mouth. They entered the dark place and the sound was cut off. Pushing towards the back to find a place to rest, they dislodged a huge boulder which trapped Alec’s leg. The bones in his foot were crushed and Joe couldn’t move the massive weight of rock. Their phones were useless in here. If Alec were to survive, it was up to Joe. He took out his knife. You could live with one foot after all. At least there was no queue... Joe and Alec were barely able to hold on to the crag because of the force of the wind as they approached the cave mouth. They had almost turned back, but the goal was too exciting. Once inside the cave, they gasped at the fairy lights. A lady dressed as an elf took their money and directed them to Santa - not the real one of course, but Joe and Alec didn’t know that. A few moments later, Mum and Dad appeared at the cave mouth, panting. “What a bloody stupid place to have a Santa’s grotto,” moaned the boys’ father. Best Mates Joe and Alec were barely able to hold on to the crag because of the force of the wind as they approached the cave mouth. Lifelong best friends, they enjoyed a range of mutual interests together. Apart from rock climbing, they surfed, galloped their horses along the beach, and last week marked their 50th skydiving jump. Even their taste in women - both had long lusted after gorgeous Roxy Malone. Last night she had chosen. Poor Joe, Alec thought, sitting alone in the safety of the cave. His only crime had been to be the more attractive of the two. Untitled Joe and Alec were barely able to hold on to the crag because of the force of the wind as they approached the cave mouth. Shelter from the storm would be welcome, and they hoped the cave wasnt occupied by a bear. A quick scan of the small cave with their flashlight revealed no bear. It shone instead, on an arrangement of stones obviously not natural. Its seven foot length and three foot width suggested a body beneath. They removed their wet parkas and sat down. Alec lit a joint. “I told you this was a good spot,” laughed Joe.
