A story of HOPE: Over 2 years ago, Yoshi, the full blooded - TopicsExpress

A story of HOPE: Over 2 years ago, Yoshi, the full blooded neutered male Shih Tzu ran off dragging his collar and leash two days after Abby Lynn Dillashaw got him from the breeder. He was 8 months old. Someone kept him safe, warm and fed until Christmas Eve 2014 when a buddy of mine, Tommy, found him in the Sumter National Forest at the Savannah River. Middle of nowhere South Carolina. Tommy brought the dog home to Georgia, named him Shorty and looked for his owners by going back to the area and looking for signs, checking groomers and vets in that area. Found nothing. He even took the dog back to the woods numerous times to see if Shorty could track home....he tracked in a circle. Tommy casually mentioned Shorty to me one day, then showed me pics and I said, someone is missing that dog. So my search began. Tommy considered keeping the dog but his girlfriend nixed that idea...The dog had to go. Abby got a phone call from her mom on Saturday who saw my post somewhere. Yoshi had been gone for two years, she had him two days and thought this was her dog. Then, after more thought and pictures, she decided it wasnt as she remembered different coloring. I asked her to contact her breeder where she got him, but there way no way. Breeder had a house fire, moved twice and phone number change. However, after numerous conversations with Abby, she agreed to adopt Shorty as they have another male Shih and hed make a great addition to the family. Yesterday, Abby went to the trouble of putting an ad with his picture in the Iwanna as a found dog (online & print). Today, a Nurse named Debra looked at the Iwanna for the first time in six months and the first picture she saw was the dog. She knew Yoshi had been missing for 2 years - Debra bred him. He was her pup. When he first went missing, Debra and her husband had set up 3 different safe houses in the woods for the dog with crate, food, water & their clothing. They looked and looked for the dog. Debra later found out the dog made his way to the school and a lady in a car picked him up. This afternoon, Debra contacted the number listed, only to find Abby on the other end of the phone! Debra, the missing former breeder Abby couldnt find! Debra was certain this Shorty dog was the missing Yoshi. Absolutely certain. So I snatched Shorty from my sister in laws foster home, we rode to SC and he was first reunited with Abby. Then Abby drove us all to Debras home. I had Shorty on my lap in the car as I wanted to see his reaction to his first home, his people and their reaction to him. I held him and rolled down the window. There was no doubt in anyones minds... This is Yoshi!!! Tonight, after 2 years, a lost dog is back home with the couple who raised him and with two dogs hes known since puppyhood. Bless you Abby for placing the ad and for giving him up to the first home he ever knew. You are an angel on earth and will be blessed for getting and losing him twice. Look at all the coincidences that occurred to make a little dog get back to where he belonged. I think a coincidence is God making things happen.
