A tru story about the strongest woman Ive ever known... Looking back years ago growing up in Coolock I had a great childhood. What I didnt realise until many years later was that my Ma was always struggling to hold a family of three boys together, on her own, raising us all by herself. It certainly wasnt easy for her in the 1980s. Like most families way back then we didnt have much money but she persevered and sacrificed throughout the years and kept and raised her children all together as a family. She taught us the values of having good morals and to always be honest and good to others and I think she did brilliant job. Although we didnt have lots of money, we were never hungry or cold and we always woke up to a blazing fire and a hot breakfast every winters morning, and we always knew we would get what toys we wanted at Xmas. We were never disappointed at Xmas. We didnt have Hollister, Lacoste or even Superdry. Nope, but we did have Guineys finest and we looked smashing in them! Then it was across the road to ONeills for a pair of shoes. No going into Champion Sports back then for a pair of Adidas Torsion. No chance Not being well off never stopped my Ma from being house proud. She always kept our home spotlessly clean and she would be constantly sweeping and mopping around my brothers and me who would be playing on the sitting room floor. I guess she realised the dangers of germs and bacteria had to her children way back then. Nowadays we all know the dangers. We never went foreign, no point asking if we were we going to Spain during summer hols, but it never bothered us because we knew one day that we would grow to be men and when that time came we would be able to give her back everything and more that she spent her life giving to us. My Ma gave her life, her heart and her soul to raising her boys and now she has two beautiful grandchildren and the love, adoration & appreciation of her three sons for everything she has done for us. On top of that she has gained two brilliant daughter in-laws who love her so much and who she loves just as much in return. She deserves all the good things going on in her life right now because shes earned it all and more
