A very long time ago a horse person who was not generally very wise said something to me about horse sport in general which is absolutely the wisest thing Ive ever heard: there are challenges at every level. This seems to me to be the essence of Endurance riding. Everyone runs what they brung to quote an old car racing phrase. Endurance seems to be open and available to riders of all ages and on any horse, regardless of age or breeding. There doesnt even seem to be a specified wardrobe or tack selection that is required. If you have a horse and know how to ride, its an endeavour that is welcoming with open arms. At least that is my early impression. Im hopeful that will still be accurate after my first ride
