A very unusual Thanksgiving weekend. I passed out Thanksgiving evening while visiting with Charlenes sister and her husband. We had eaten at Cracker Barrel in Shawnee and returned to their house between Ada and Seminole. We were visiting and watching football on tv and I hear Charlene telling me they need to take me to the ER. On the way to the hospital I passed out again. Seminole hospital checked me out and ct scan showed hematomas on the brain and called for an ambulance to transport me to St John in Tulsa. They did an MRI and determined it was not new blood and began checking for heart/vascular problems and found nothing. After a consult with four OU physicians this afternoon, they sent me home with a Holton Heart Monitor for 48 hrs and I have a follow-up visit with my cardiologist here in Tahlequah (already had it scheduled) and my primary care OU physician. We may never know the reason for the episodes, but for now I am very thankful to have been thoroughly checked out and have such a good outcome. I am not to drive until I can be released by my doctors, and I totally agree with that decision. Continued prayers for me and Charlene would be appreciated. She has surgery follow-up Tues, and is still having quite a bit of pain from the recent back surgery. I feel great and really no different than before the episodes. I told the nurses that I was probably the healthiest patient they had ever had wearing a Fall Risk bracelet !!
