A volunteer writes: Diane is a black orchid, a little girl barely out of puppyhood. She is beautiful, healthy looking and wears the most shiny oreo coat. She poses wonderfully for the pictures, sits obediently on command and for treats. She was found as a stray, abandoned all alone in a park. Diane is a bit shaken up and wary of sudden sounds and pushy dogs. She takes refuge in my arms or softly barks, I guess in the hope to protect herself. A puppy should not have to worry. Diane walks nicely on the leash and even eliminates as we leave the care center. She likes to go to people while we are strolling, seeking attention in a nice way. Still, I have to let her know that this is not proper. In the yard, leash free, she immediately jumps with all four on my lap, un-invited. Diane really needs love and attention. She is the greatest cuddler and showers me with kisses. She does not seem familiar with the ball but I have no doubt she will learn in no time given the chance to join a master or family as a forever pet. Diane is at the Manhattan Care Center hoping for someone to fall in love with her.
