Here was my quick reply after just a brief thought. And I must say, Im very intrigued by the fact that my terminology the rhythm of eating, meaning the power of avoiding skipping breakfast and having a relatively regular eating schedule, may have a gut microbial basis in fact. So here was my reply: Actually ST, there is a very important point here. But the higher priority would be maintaining a regular eating schedule wherever you are – for instance, eating within an hour of awakening and then approximately every 2–4 hours after that depending on circumstances such as the size of the meal/snack, whether there was exercise (or any form of vigorous activity) involved – which would increase the calorie requirements a bit and decrease the time needed to next feeding (whether it be the time gap between ending the workout and eating or the time between eating after a workout and the subsequent feeding).
