Fifteen years ago today, I laid paralyzed at Ohio State University, a victim of a bow hunting tree stand fall / accident. After a successful spinal surgery three days later, and neurosurgeons rebuilding portions of my shattered spine with bone grafts from my hip and a plastic moulded vertebrate, I began my journey to successfully walk again. After hearing of another bow hunting friend fall recently in Kentucky, I encourage every fellow bow hunter to take every precaution possible to keep your hunt safe this upcoming bow season. The WV archery season starts in one week, and all bow hunters out there can learn from my mistakes. Come home to your families safe every night, and dont make this season your last!
