A week from tomorrow, August 4th, marks 10 years since I arrived in Spain to live. Over the past decade, this country has helped me discover who I am and most of all has given me great happiness with my wonderful little family and an amazing network of people who make every day here a fun adventure. Over the next week, to celebrate this milestone, I will be sharing one thing each day that Spain has taught me about life. To begin...Spain has taught me to enjoy the beauty of nature. While Dani and I were on a hike in the Alpujarras mountain region of Granada several summers ago, I caught myself in a moment listening to the gurgling of the river and found myself in awe of the quiet stillness around me. It truly recharged me. Since then I found myself craving quiet nature in doses (not necessarily hiking, as I am not a hiker) and this past year, made this dream a reality by finally moving of the city and into the burbs of the rolling hills surrounding Sevilla. Our new home is truly a refuge and affords me the possibility to recharge among nature every day. In short, Spain has taught me that I am not a city girl. El 4 de agosto marcarán 10 años desde que llegué a España para vivir. En esta última decada este país me ha ayudado a descubrir quien soy y sobre todo me ha dado gran felicidad con mi pequeña maravillosa familia y una red asombrosa de gente que hace que cada día sea una aventura. En esta semana, voy a celebrar este reto compartiendo una cosa cada día, algo que me ha enseñado España sobre la vida. Para empezar...España me ha enseñado a disfrutar la belleza de la naturaleza. Mientras Dani y yo hacíamos algo de senderismo en las Alpujarras hace varios años, me encontré parada en un momento de silencio y asombro escuchando nada más que el gorjeo del riachuelo. Me recargó por completo. Desde entonces, mi cuerpo me pedía esa dosis de naturaleza (pero no tenía que ser senderismo, está claro no es lo mío) y hace poco pudimos hacer realidad ese sueño. Por fin nos hemos mudado a un pueblo en el Aljarafe de Sevilla, donde nuestro hogar es un verdadero refugio y me permite la posibilidad de recargar entre la naturaleza todos los días. En resúmen, España me ha enseñado que no soy chica de ciudad. #10yearsinEspaña #pueblolife
