A welcome from our Foundation Principal Adrian Pree: Welcome future parents. I am currently the Director of Planning and Co-curricular at St Mark’s Anglican Community School, Hillarys. I joined the St Mark’s staff in 1989 and have been the Head of the Physical Education Department since 1997. I am passionate about sport, music and the arts. As a parent myself, I know the growth in confidence that students gain from participation in any or all of these events. St James Anglican School will develop these co-curricular programs from K-12. Outdoor education will eventually be embedded in the fabric of the school allowing students to gain experiences that will help build resilience in ways that cannot always be achieved within the four walls of a classroom. I believe strongly in the core values of the Anglican Schools Commission – faith, excellence, justice, respect, integrity and diversity. I am sure that as parents, we all aim to bring our own children up with these values. St James Anglican School will reinforce these family values and produce students who have developed their whole character. I hold a Bachelor of Physical Education and Diploma of Education from the University of Western Australia. I was a co-author for the widely accredited publication Physical Education Studies for WA 3A, 3B. I’m a keen sportsman, with particular interest and skills in soccer, surfing, volleyball, alpine skiing, cricket, tennis and badminton. I have been involved in martial arts for 25 years and have been an instructor for more than 13 years. I’m married to Victoria, and have two children, Max (aged 13) and Lily (aged 10). I look forward to commencing duties as Principal in April 2014. St James’ Anglican School will be the eleventh school of The Anglican Schools Commission (Inc). Opening in 2015 with all classes from Kindergarten to Year 6, it will grow to all year levels Kindergarten to Year 12 by 2021. The co-educational primary and secondary school will be situated on a 10 hectare site at Alkimos Beach, some 40 kilometres north of the Perth CBD. Construction of the new school will commence early in 2014.
