A wheely good effort from Team Bones’ Tim Carvell and friends Dave, Steve, Brian and Peter who took on the Liverpool Chester Liverpool bike ride at the weekend – raising £1169 for BCRT! They took part in the 50-mile bike ride in memory of Tim’s daughter Jennifer who passed away on 12th August 2003 – less than a year after she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. They were spurred on by a special support banner Tim’s niece Evie created – depicting their fundraising efforts for BCRT, the team cycling through the Birkenhead Tunnel, a heart of remembrance for Jennifer and the BCRT logo. Said Tim: “Thanks to BCRT for the T-shirt, card and goodies for Evie – she was absolutely delighted and very much part of the team. The support banner was incredible and it was all her own design – I was over the moon.” He added: “Our family supported us through the day - Claire and Evie met us at the halfway point in Chester bearing gifts of cold water, bananas and chocolate. Lin, Adam, Nic and Ellie were at the finish line shouting and cheering Team Bones home.” What a great team effort from all – thanks to all for your hard work and support in raising vital funds and awareness for those affected by primary bone cancer!
